Carla Arocha & Stéphane Schraenen
Persiana
2015
Short description / The exhibition catalogue of Persiana at Cultuurcentrum Mechelen marks ten years of Carla Arocha and Stephane Schraenen artistic collaboration. All works and installation views are digital renderings which sheds light onto the artists methodology and the sequence of these images mimics the trajectory of the exhibition’s installation. The title Persiana refers to venetian blinds which in a domestic setting delineate the limits between the inside and the outside, inviting speculative thoughts of what happens on either side.
Along with the exhibition’s presentation in this volume, there also is a smaller section on a group exhibition curated by the artists: Threshold, including the artists’ work, Wall produced in collaboration with Cerámicas Surro in Guadalajara, Mexico along with the work of Josef Albers, Paver Büchler, Dennis Tyfus and Pieter Vermiersh.
