Guide to the Wastelands of the Lea Valley
12 Empty Spaces Await the London Olympics
2009

Short description / The Lea Valley in London was undergoing rapid transformation as capital prepared to host the 2012 Olympic Games. Once a centre of industry, this area of canals, creeks, docks and parkland was being steadily reconfigured and absorbed into the modern city. Twelve wasteland sites in the boroughs of Stratford, West Ham, Bow, Newham, Tower Hamlets, and Canning Town – from the site of the Olympic Park east to the Thames – were surveyed and presented in a publication.
